Get Flatter Abs in Four Easy Steps

October 25th, 2008 by Rajeev Pandey

There are two things you need to get flat abs, the first is toned and strong abdominal muscles to pull your tummy in. The second is to make sure you’re not carrying a lot of extra weight on top of your abs. So let’s look at the four steps to achieving this.

Play A Sport

That is an active sport, something like basketball, tennis or football. I’m afraid golf doesn’t really count. The stop start nature of these sports is one of the best cardio workouts. This will help tone your muscles and lose some fat.

Eat Healthily

It is very true to what you put into your body will determine what it looks like. You may see a fit and healthy looking person have an occasional doughnut or candy bar but they won’t eat them every day. You will see a fit and healthy people eating lots of veggies, and drinking lots of water. Once you get used to eating healthy foods you will lose your cravings for the unhealthy ones.

Make Your Workouts Smart

All those lovely machines in the gyms may help them look as if they are trendy and up-to-the-minute. The truth is the best workouts use free weights and work multiple muscle groups at a time. This is especially important for the abs which are part of your core muscles. If you use free weights then your abs will go to work with whatever muscles you are using as they will be needed to stabilize your body.

Lose Weight

Once you are doing effective workouts and putting good things into your body you will begin to see results. Now you are ready for the final step to start losing weight so you can see those great flat abs. You will probably find that you are already losing weight with a healthy diet and good exercise program. If not then you will need to cut back a little, which will be easier than you may think as your body will be driving you in this direction by now.
