Over the years, people became more particular about their wardrobe, their accessories, even their hairstyle, making 
careful selections to build and enhance their individuality. The selection of eyewear however, was almost always done with a practical end in mind - does it fit well, is it comfortable, what does it cost? Things slowly started changing as big names entered the eyewear market.
Top fashion houses like YSL, Gucci and Armani started designing eyewear and people got up and took notice. The markets were suddenly flooded with eyewear that differed in look, colors, overall designs, even texture. Eyewear was no longer the boring practical accessory that it once was - it was now chosen to add pizazz to ones’ wardrobe. In fact, it is now fairly common for people to have three to four pairs of eyewear, to wear on different occasions.
More and more celebrities are also being seen in designer eyewear giving them an allure all of their own. Fashion designer eyewear is now used to make a style statement as proved by the growing demand for designer eyewear, with even zero power! Eyewear has transformed into a genuine fashion accessory.
